Back To Work

Well, I'm going back to work tomorrow :(  I am soooo sad!  I have absolutely loved spending the last 3 months at home with Makayla.  I can't believe it is over already!  It flew by!  She will be going to day care while I am at work.  I am planning on working 4 ten hour days... and I will have Wednesdays off.  It is going to be such a hard adjustment... hopefully it will go well.  But I know I am going to miss her so much!  I tear up everytime I think about it.  The good news is that my office is moving from St. Anne's to St. Charles and Makayla will be going to the daycare at St. Charles.  So, she will be very close to me and I can walk over to see her on my breaks.  This is going to be so hard!  Wish I could be a stay at home mommy forever :(

House For Sale

Nick and I have been wanting to move for a while now.  We just kind of want a bigger house and we want to be in a different school district once Makayla starts school.  Unfortunately, this is not a good time to sell a house!  The value of our house has really gone done, as well as everyone elses.  So, we really don't want to hire a realtor because of all the fees.  If we could sell on our own, we could ask less for our house... which I think will help it sell faster.  People are just looking for good deals right now and I can completely relate to that.  So, for now we bought a couple of for sale signs and we are doing some of our own advertising.  I posted ads on Zillow.com and Craigslist.  And we are going to hang our flyers at our local grocery store and some other places.  A few people have called for prices already.  I think we just really need to get some people inside to see that it is actually much bigger than it looks.  The front is very deceiving.  It is very frustrating trying to sell!  And of course we found the most perfect house that is for sale in the Oak Harbor school district.  It has everything that we are looking for in a house and on the perfect 5 acre lot!  I'm sure it will end up selling before we get an offer for our house... but a girl can dream right? :)  Here is a link to our Zillow ad and some pictures I took recently.  Also, if anyone has any ideas on getting a house sold quickly please let me know! :)

Visit From Canada

This weekend my Uncle Ken and Aunt Helen came for a visit from Canada.  Uncle Ken is my Dad's brother.  This was their first time meeting Makayla.  They came in on Friday, so we had a cookout at my parent's house that night and some amazing oreo cookie pie!  My Aunt Bern from Cincinnati came in again too on Saturday afternoon.  Saturday night we went to BJ's Hideaway for dinner.  Everyone took turns holding Makayla and she just loved the attention of course! :)

2 Month Doctor Appointment

Makayla went to the doctor's for her 2 month checkup on July 19th.  She was about 2 1/2 months old on this visit.  She is now 12 lbs and 7 1/2 oz!  She is 22 1/2 inches long!  I cannot believe how big she is getting!

Tummy Time

Just sitting here watching my little girl sleep... And I am overwhelmed with love and joy that she is actually mine! This precious little girl we actually get to hold and keep her close and kiss whenever we want... Such an amazing feeling. Sure makes me miss my Eli... Wish he was here with our family so we could enjoy the same things with him. Miss him so much! I feel like Makayla keeps him even closer to heart though. I love my little family <3

2 Months

Makayla turned 2 months old on my birthday, July 5th!  She is growing so fast... I just can't believe it.  She is holding her head up so well... and is so alert!  She smiles more everyday.  She is sleeping great!  The last two nights she has slept through the night so I hope that continues!  We just love her!!

Visit with Aunt Bern

My Aunt Bern came to visit over the weekend.  This was her first time meeting Makayla and she just loved her!!  She is also my Godmother, so we have always been close.  :)
