Xavier and Xander's 1st Birthday

Our twin nephews just turned 1 on Sunday.  Here are some pictures from their super fun birthday party! :)

Jumper Fun!

Makayla likes spending a few minutes in her jumper now.  Notice I said just a few minutes LOL.  Unfortunately her jumper is still too big for her even though it says 4 months.  Her feet barely touch the ground, so I put a pillow under her feet so she can jump.  She loves all the toys on there, but usually gets cranky after too long in there.  LOL  Here are some smiles :)

4 Month Doctor's Appointment + First Cereal!

Makayla had her 4 month doctor's appointment today.  She had to get 2 shots :(  and was not too happy about that of course.  She has been pretty crabby all day too.  The pediatrician said we can go ahead and start her on solids.  So, I picked up some cereal for her to try today.  I'm pretty sure she does NOT like it LOL.  They said she probably would spit most of it out at first since she is not used to the consistancy and taste yet.  So, we will see how she likes it tomorrow.  I just couldn't get over that priceless look on her face!  Love her!

Visit with the Johnson's

Last Wednesday, Makayla got to meet Babe (Mary Kay) and Donnie.  Donnie is my Godfather and Babe is his wife.  They are my parent's best friends and we were always with them and their family growing up.  A few years ago they moved to Florida, so I haven't seen them in a long time.  So, this visit was very exciting so they could meet Makayla.

Donnie is currently fighting his battle against cancer.  So, we have been praying for him everyday.  They  mean so much to me!  I have so many amazing memories with them... Swimming in pond and cookouts every weekend....  Playing with play-do at their kitchen table...  Playing pool... Playing on the computer in their basement... Visiting every year on Christmas day... My first card game of 52 pickup lol..... and so many more.  I wish we could see them more and I pray that God gives us more time together.

It seems like so many people are being diagnosed with cancer lately...  It just doesn't make sense.  Why does anyone have to suffer through this terrible disease.  On Saturday, we got the horrible news that my Aunt Cathy had lost her battle with the disease.  My mom and my grandma were just devastated...  She was recently told that she had less than a year to live, but this still came as a total shock since that was only a week ago.  We all thought we had more time with her, but unforunately it did not work out that way.  My mom is so upset that she didn't get to do more for her, but I keep reminding her of how much she did do for her!  She took her to appointments, she sat with her in the hospital, she ran errands for her and got her prescriptions.  My mom did so much for her.  My mom has a very stressful job that she does full time and she has her own family that she does amazing things for.  So, the fact that she did so much for my aunt is just amazing.  I hope she knows how good of a person she is and how much she means to us.  I know that my aunt appreciated all the things she did for her.  My mom is truly an amazing mom, sister, daughter, wife and grandma among many other things!  We will miss my aunt dearly.  Although she was taken from us too soon, I think it may have been for the best so that she didn't have to suffer any more pain and now she is in a better place.  Love you Aunt Cathy!

Lions Football

Go Lions!  We are huge Lions fans in this family!  And it looks like it just might be a good year this time!  Keeping our fingers crossed!  Here are some pictures of Makayla ready to watch her first Lions football game!

Missing Eli

Missing my little boy even more than usual lately (if that was possible).  Wish he was here to play with his little sister and hug her and give her kisses.

It's sad how so many people have to deal with the loss of a child.  Whether you got to meet that child or not, the pain is always there.  Being blessed with another child does not erase that pain.  Sometimes it only makes that pain stronger because you wish he was here to share in all of these new memories.  You think about how differently things would be if he was here.  How much more love you would have.  For now I can find some sense of peace knowing that we will be reunited again one day.

Makayla ~ 4 Months

My baby girl is 4 months old already!   I just can't believe it!  Everyone has always said how fast kids grow up, but I don't think I ever realized it until I had my own.  Of course I had to take some pictures of my big girl.  :)

Love this smile! <3

I know this is gross, but I had to post it!  LOL

Obviously the tv is more interesting than I am in this picture!

No more pictures!!

Rolling Over!

Makayla has been rolling over for a while now!  It is so amazing to see her do new things!  She is really good at rolling from her back to her belly, but after she does this she gets a little frustrated and angry that it's so much harder for her to turn back over!  Sometimes she does it really good and other times she finds it very difficult lol.  Sometimes she just decides to chill on her belly and falls asleep sucking her thumb.  She has been sucking her thumb constantly now.  I'm wondering if she is teething...  She has no interest in her pacifier, which I am kind of happy about.  We won't have to worry about taking it away when she gets older.  She is also starting to play with her toys.  One of her favorite things to do is to lay on her activity mat and play with the toys, watch the lights and listen to the music.

Here is a video of her turning to her belly.  :)
