Baby's First Cold :-(

Makayla has a stuffy nose often, which we have kind of thought may be due to allergies since Nick and I both have allergies.  However, the last couple of days it has gotten a little worse.  Sunday night she started to get very upset and started coughing really bad.  The combination of crying and coughing made her start gasping!  She was having a really hard time breathing.  Nick and I were so worried!!  I called her pediatrician's emergency line, but after she calmed down her breathing got much better.  We decided to keep her in our room in her bassinet that night so we could hear her every breath!  I don't think either of us slept very much!  Today she seems to be feeling a little better, but still very stuffy.  I took her in to the pediatrician's just to be sure.  The NP said that her lungs are clear and she has no ear infections.  So, it's just a cold and there isn't too much we can do about it unfortulately.  Just have to let it run its course...  She recommended propping her up when she sleeps and some saline drops for her nose.  Hopefully she gets better very soon!  And no more scares!  That was awful!
